Salman Khan’s latest film Dabangg is a hit. To start with, the film has beaten Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots in terms of opening day collections at box office. While 3 Idiots made Rs 13 crore on its first day,Dabangg raked in Rs. 14.5 crore on Friday at the boxoffice.
That’s not all. If the positive word of mouth and favourable reviews are to go by, it might also beat the first weekend collections of 3 Idiots.
3 Idiots made Rs 41 cr in the opening weekend during Christmas last year. If seat bums in theatres continue as they have been on Friday and Saturday,Dabangg might collect a whopping Rs. 45 to 48 crore before Monday.
Whatever the case, Dabangg is already going three times stronger at the box office than Salman’s last year’s hit Wanted.
