Bipasha Basu as femme fatale in ‘The Italian Job’ remake

Bipasha Basu’s wish to do an action role has been fulfilled. The lady has bagged a plum role in Abbas-Mastan’s Hindi remake of the 2003 Hollywood thriller ‘The Italian Job’.

Just recently, Bipasha had expressed her itching desire to do an action role after a spate of serious, character-based roles in her recent films. Well, the wish has been granted. She will reportedly play a femme fatale in the movie titledPlayers which will be the official remake of The Italian Job

From what we learn, the makers of the film saw the rushes of Rohan Sippy’s upcoming film Dum Maaro Dum which has Bipasha playing a Goan junkie. Moreover, Bipasha’s spunky performance in Dhoom 2 was also in their mind.

Players will have Bipasha sharing screen space with actors like Abhishek Bachchan, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bobby Deol.

It will be a full-on action film revolving around a heist, with loads of stunts, pyrotechnics and, needless to say, unexpected twists and turns in the plot.

Sonakshi Sinha to replace Katrina Kaif?

After Katrina Kaif walked out from the Italian Job remake, leaving the director duo Abbas-Mastan in the lurch, news of Sonam Kapoor stepping into the breach started doing the rounds. But now, the buzz is that the directors have approached Sonkashi Sinha for the role.

If Sonakshi says yes to the project then she will share screen space withAbhishek Bachchan, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bobby Deol.

The girl who is touted as the next big thing in Bollywood has already baggedArbaaz Khan’s next and has also been signed opposite Salman Khan in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick, which is a remake of a south hit, claim sources.

Sajid was initially thinking of roping in Deepika Padukone for the film but as Sonakshi is backed by the powerful Khan who is recommending her to producers, Kick might also see Sallu-Sonakshi pair.

Katrina Kaif’s loss is Sonam Kapoor’s gain

Never a producer complains about Katrina Kaif’s professionalism, but for the first time it happened when she walked out from the Abbas-Mustan’s film, which is a remake of Hollywood hit Italian Job, after giving a nod to the project. The directors now got Sonam Kapoor for the role.

The remake has Abhishek Bachchan, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bobby Deol in the lead and Sonam will be paired opposite Abhi.

The director duo was quite upset with Katrina’s behaviour and even told a tabloid that they are ‘shocked’, ‘hurt’ and ‘extremely disappointed’ by her act. Now, as they have acquired the rights of making the remake, nothing is stopping them.

It is believed that Kat said no to the Italian Job Bollywood version because of a Yashraj project with Imran Khan.

Someone’s loss is someone’s gain!
